Feature in Marches & More

Marches & More is a new free weekly email for locals who love where they live.

Every Thursday, MAM sends a handpicked edit of places to feast, gather and wander across the Marches and more.

Got something locals can do, book, taste, join, watch or experience? MAM might be a very good place for it.

Why MAM?

Because people are tired of hunting for plans in seventeen Facebook groups, blurry posters, pub loo doors and the Instagram Story they definitely saw but can never find again.

Social is useful, but it is busy. Your post can be lovely, clear and genuinely worth seeing, then still vanish between a lost dog, a pothole complaint and someone asking where to get a decent Sunday roast.

Email works differently.

MAM lands with people who have asked for it. Locals who want better plans, sent straight to their inbox every Thursday. They can read it, save it, forward it, click through and book.

That makes it a much better home for things with dates, tickets, tables, paths, people and proper reasons to show up.

The numbers bit

Email pulls its weight.

Recent UK email benchmarks put delivery rates at 98%, open rates at 35.9% and unique click rates at 2.3%. Meanwhile, social engagement has been falling across major platforms.

Which is a slightly dry way of saying: inboxes still matter, and social is not the whole answer.

What fits MAM?

MAM is for things people can actually do.

Events, markets, walks, workshops, supper clubs, gigs, festivals, pop-ups, tastings, special menus, open days, family plans, local rituals, wild places and small wonders.

It is not really for plain “come to my shop” adverts.

But if you’re giving people a reason to come along, I want to hear about it.

While MAM is new

MAM is just getting started, so I’m currently talking to a small number of early local partners.

That might mean a complimentary launch feature, a lower early rate, or a simple test to see what works.

I’m keeping it selective, because the whole point is that people trust the edit.

Need help before you advertise?

I also run Riot and Ritual, where I help businesses make their ideas and words clearer, sharper and easier to say yes to.

So if your event, launch, offer, website or seasonal thing needs a better name, stronger hook or words that make people care, I can help with that too.

Sometimes you need more visibility. And sometimes you need to make the thing make sense first.

No hard sell. No weird sales call. Just a straight chat with Editor Sarah about whether it feels like a good fit.
